Starting from £12,900
R/World Only.
This is the ultimate 600cc Supersport bike that has been dominating WorldSSP racing for years. Like every R-Series it has been developed without compromise in order to achieve the highest levels of performance. And to make it even easier for you and your team to prepare for the racing season, the track-only R6 RACE is now supplied in race ready trim.
The R6 RACE is equipped with an aggressively styled body featuring the iconic M-shaped front air intake. Inspired by the factory’s M1 MotoGP® bike, this bodywork gives you maximum aerodynamic efficiency for reduced lap times – while the compact Deltabox chassis, sculpted aluminium fuel tank and slim magnesium subframe enable you to tuck in close to the bike on the straight.
Available in Tech Black, the stripped down R6 RACE is the perfect bike for everyone from track day riders through to hungry racers who want to make their name with their first major victory. With so many WorldSSP titles to its credit, the lightweight 599cc inline four-cylinder engine has proved that it’s the fastest in the business – and with its Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I) and Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) – as well as a slipper clutch, close ratio 6-speed transmission and Quick Shift System (QSS) – the track-ready R6 RACE gives you the highest level of controllability on every circuit.
Race-ready specification
The R6 RACE is now supplied from the factory in a race-ready specification with non-essential road components removed. This makes circuit preparation quicker and easier, and confirms the R6 RACE as the ultimate track bike with an outstanding race record that is second to none.
Lightweight high-performance 599cc engine
The high-performance R6 engine has achieved legendary status by winning 5 consecutive WorldSSP Championships. Like every R-Series it’s been constructed with advanced race-developed technology from Yamaha’s World Championship machinery. The combination of lightweight forged pistons with a 13.1:1 compression ratio and titanium valves give you a thrilling ride along with winning performance.
Aerodynamic race-developed bodywork
Every R-Series has been designed to offer the ultimate performance, and the aerodynamic fairing on the R6 RACE reduces the bike’s drag coefficient to give you a real advantage at high speeds. And to remind the opposition of its pure racing heritage, the lightweight and slim bodywork features an aggressive M1 MotoGP® style front intake and race-style screen.
Sophisticated electronic control systems
The R6 RACE is equipped with various high-tech electronic systems that help you to achieve your best performance. The Quick Shift System (QSS) enables full throttle clutchless upshifting, and the Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I) and Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) – as well as a slipper clutch and close ratio 6-speed transmission – give you the highest level of controllability on every circuit.
High-specification R1-type front forks
Coming with an extremely high specification as standard, the R6 RACE is equipped with golden coloured state-of-the-art R1-type fully adjustable 43 mm front forks. This high-tech front end gives outstanding roadholding with excellent feedback and contributes significantly towards making this one of the best-handling bikes in the class.
Race-bred ergonomics
Watch any top racer in action and you can see that the ability to alter body position quickly when entering and exiting corners is crucial. With its compact Deltabox frame, sculpted aluminium tank, slim seat and narrow magnesium subframe, the R6 RACE allows you to shift weight quickly and easily, helping you to achieve increased control for reduced lap times.
Compact Deltabox frame and lightweight magnesium subframe
The compact aluminium Deltabox frame is equipped with a magnesium subframe that’s manufactured using Yamaha’s CF die casting technology, for maximum strength with minimum weight. Its slim dimensions give excellent ergonomics, allowing you to tuck in close to the bike on the straight, and the low weight helps to enhance mass centralisation for sharp and responsive handling.
Class-leading R1-type front brakes
To match the high-specification golden coloured 43 mm front forks the R6 RACE runs with dual 320 mm hydraulic discs that are gripped by radial mount 4-pot opposed piston calipers. Built to the same specification as the system on the WSBK race-winning R1, this advanced class leading design gives outstanding stopping power together with precise control.
Lightweight aluminium fuel tank
The R6 RACE is fitted with a lightweight aluminium fuel tank that is sculpted to give you plenty of freedom to shift your bodyweight and achieve the best riding position. Featuring deep knee recesses, that allow you to tuck in tightly and grip the tank, this beautifully finished 17-litre tank design highlights the motorcycle's premium specification.
